Went to see Rothco at the Tate with vic and Rachel,
I was pretty excited at the prospect,
as I wanted to concentrate on purer colour areas
and under painted texture in my current work.
Rothco work looks at how colour areas meet and touch,
it was like a conversation with a friend.

I'm getting a bit excited about these limited colour compositions,
do they suggest those haunting shadowed riverscapes,in Autumn?

Using a lot of neutral tones has given power to oranges and
blues, I'm thinking of using yellow greys to give golden
light to sunset water.

Marrakesh...
just great to work with colour,
where there so much orange, soft red,and warm shadows.
Ive been using water soluble pastels.....
they work as paint,washed with a brush
just as pastels,
and you can wash them away leaving the white paper.
